One of the charismatic leaders like Margaret Thatcher, Indira Gandhi, the highly adorable Tamil Amma – Dr Jayalalitha – Mandyada Magalu passes away on Monday night at 11.30 pm (December 5, official declaration) leaving very fond memories, excellent work for the people of Tamil Nadu.

Dr Jayalalitha born in Mandya (Melukote of Pandavapura taluk) in an Iyengar (Vishistadwaitha) family in 1948 was Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for six times. She battled for life in the last 75 days at Appolo Hospitals in Chennai.

Born to Jayaram and Vedavalli (actress Sandhya later) on February 24, 1948 – she was named as Komalavalli. Her grandfather Narasimhan Rangachari was a doctor in Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar kingdom. Jayalalitha mother father Rangaswami Iyengar was employed in Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.

Jayalaitha was two years she lost her father and moved to Bengaluru with her mother. When her mother Vedavalli moved to Madras in 1952, she made debut in films in the name of Sandhya. At this time 1950 to 1958 Jayalalitha was in the house of her grandparents in Mysuru. In Bengaluru she studied in Bishop Cotton girl’s school. The properties of Jayalalitha ancestors in Mysuru Mahalakshmipuram, 2nd main ‘Lalitha Vilasa’, ‘Rama Vilasa’ plus house in 3rd Main of Saraswathipuram ‘Jayavilasa’ were sold in1958 to settle down in Madaras. She continued her studies in Madras.

 It was in 1960 May Jayalalitha made debut as Bharatanatyam dancer in Mailaapura. In 1961 she acted in Sri Shaila Mahatme as child actress. In 1964 ‘Chinnada Gombe’ she was opposite Kalyankumar in Kannada film of director BR Panthulu, it was from 1965 ‘Vennira Adai’ Tamil film she made in Tamil films. She went on to act in Telugu, Hindi language films. One of the highest paid actresses in those days acted in over 140 films.

In 1982 she joined AIADMK political party. In 1984 she entered Rajya sabha. In 1989 she entered Tamil Nadu Assembly, the most condemnable attack on Jayalitha in Assembly took place in 1989 March 25.

In 1991 Jayalalitha was appointed as first woman chief minister. She continued a very long innings as iron lady.

AIADMK supremo and former Tamil Nadu chief minister J. Jayalalithaa was released from Bangalore jail after 21 (she was brought to Parappana Agrahara prison on September 27 2014 order prisoner no 7402) days. The Supreme Court on Friday granted her bail in an 18-year-old disproportionate assets case.

 Jayalalithaa stepped out of Parappana Agrahara Central Prison shortly after Special Court Judge John Michael D' Cunha issued the release order.

 We deeply mourn the demise one of the most charismatic leader Dr J Jayalalitha.
